Top 4 Questions of Non-divers

Top 4 Questions of Non-divers

There are scuba divers all around the world and each one of them is unique, but most of them had the same questions when they started diving.

1.- What happens if we encounter a shark?

If you encounter a shark it is most likely one of the luckiest days of your life. Sharks are beautiful creatures that don't see you like a potential meal. Most of the shark attacks are because they mistake humans with other animals like seals or because of curiosity. If you encounter a shark admire it and stay calm, almost every time it will go away in a few seconds.

2.- How deep can we go?

When you enter the diving world you will encounter several diving limits that include time and depth. Depending on your diving agency and certification level it will be your depth limit. For the first open water level you can go between 15 and 18 meters (depending on the agency) and then it may increase all the way to 56 meters, for recreational diving. After that, you can go into technical diving and go even deeper. People have gone to more the 300 meters deep and they will go further.

3.- How much does a cheap SCUBA gear cost?

Scuba gear prices vary a lot depending on brands, materials and characteristics. I don't recommend buying use equipment because you don't know how it has been treated in the past. So, if you have decided to buy your own BCD and regulator but you are in a budget, the common cheap price for a good equipment is around $600. Know, if you have decided that you have the money to spend and would like something a little bit more comfortable, you will have to spend around $1200 and it will still be consider quite cheap.

4.- Where is the best place to go diving?

Depending on the type of diver the answer will be different. Some love the tropical Caribbean reefs and others the ice diving in Iceland; it all depends on what you want to sea and/or feel. Between the most amazing places the author has dive in are the cenotes y Tulum Mexico. This are natural sinkholes that can vary between salt and fresh water making them quite an amazing experience.
